Best mosquito protection for divers? nopixgo in test

You are in paradise and everything is perfect…. if there weren’t these annoying mosquitoes. Because one thing is clear where water is, there are also mosquitoes.

To be brief, we have really tested all the means. From globulis (thymuline), to AntiBrum and Autan etc, to Indonesian sprays and creams with sometimes questionable contents (smells at least good). But most of them don’t seem really reliable and usually they smell quite unpleasant.

Last year, a Swiss manufacturer launched a wristband that, according to the manufacturer, is supposed to simulate thunderstorms, and mosquitoes do not sting during thunderstorms. After initial eye rolls, well, whether that works and especially for the price (CHF 87.50) I have to say: THAT is the best thing I have ever used. 

For example, we were on Ambon for 3 weeks in December/January and I had exactly 2 stitches and that just because I didn’t have the bracelet on for 20 minutes one evening.

NopixGo can be ordered in different colours and comes with charging cables. You have to charge it about every 2 days and if you have it next to you you are safe during the charging process. On Ambon there was no mosquito net over the bed in the resort and yet we had no stitches. The bracelet should not be taken to the shower or for diving. 

Importantly, you don’t even notice anything about this “thunderstorm”. So neither small electric shocks or unpleasant hum, it is simply a plastic bracelet with USB connection. The only thing that bothered me at night is flashing the state LED. But well, somehow you have to know if you are still on the safe side. 

In the meantime I have bought lots of them for my complete family and so far everyone has been enthusiastic.
